Leaving the Land
In Mesopotamia there were lots of reasons why they would think about leaving the area.
SUMMERS OF MESOPOTAMIA
Crops were one of the main things that they needed to survive, because it was food for the town. Mesopotamia had very hot summers, so it was hard for people to work in the heat of the day. Since there were hot summers, there was little rain. So little rain led to crops dieing. With less crops they would have less food for the town. There were also floods that killed the crops. Floods would also lead to having less food. HOW WOULD THEY BE TRANSPORTED
If they did move, they would need to move themselves and their goods. The goods and people would be transported by chariots, boats, by foot, horses, wagons, etc. |
WARS WITH OTHER TOWNS
There were also wars between other places. There were wars because of many reasons. One reason would be that the two towns are fighting over land. More land means more space for crops. That is why the two towns would want the land so badly. Another reason would be that one town accidentally floods another town’s crops. There were also attacks from other villages. |
