The Social Structure of Mesopotamia
Mesopotamia had an interesting social structure. They had different social classes too. There was the high class, the middle class, and the lower class. The high class was made up of kings, priests, wealthy merchants, and government officials. They made the most money and had lots of authority. The middle class was made up of artisans, farmers, fishermen, and scribes. Those people were average, and didn’t have much money. Lastly, there was the lower class which was made up of slaves and prisoners of war. They were not paid, but were provided food and shelter. In this website, you can learn a lot about the different social classes and their jobs, education, what they did in their free time (if they had any free time), and the different rights of men and women.
