Technology And Inventions Of Ancient Mesopotamia
Ancient Mesopotamians, living in a world filled with wildlife, only wildlife. No cities, no grocery stores, no Iphones or internet. Yet they still had technology. What they had, was different, but still, it was technology, nevertheless.
Important Inventions
In the ancient times, there weren’t a ton technological advances, but what they did have was important, such as the wheel, and irrigation. Irrigation was the first major invention of the Sumerians, as it helped the water their crops easily, and it helped even out the water during a flood or drought.
The wheel was another helpful invention. It was first used as a pottery wheel, for making pots. But, eventually they used it for making chariots and carts that could be pulled by horses or oxen.

Other Technology
Even though these inventions weren’t life changing like the wheel and irrigation, they were useful, too. Some of these other inventions were the sailboat, plow and loom. The sailboat was very helpful for moving goods from place to place by water.
Plows were pretty important too. Like irrigation, it helped with farming, but this time, for turning soil. The plow made it much easier to plant seeds, and it was much faster too.
Finally, the loom. The loom isn’t as well known, because it held none of the importance of wheels and such. Still, without the loom, people would still be making cloth by hand. The loom was also based off of the wheel.
