Religion in Mesopotamia
CRACK. The lighting bolt struck the city of Ur. The gods were angry that the people of Ur who were neglecting them. Mesopotamia had a very interesting religion compared to today. They believed in over 2,000 gods, which is called polytheism. Some of the different gods include Adad, Ea, and Marduk. People praised these gods and others in temples called ziggurats. They attended religious ceremonies, gave offerings to the gods, and worshiped them each and every day. When the gods were angry, they created natural disasters.
